Al Hamilton Scholarship

The Al Hamilton Scholarship is awarded annually to a student from the Greater Edmonton area for excellence in academics, athletics and community service. One scholarship is available each year to a student entering their first year of post-secondary education. This year, there are two scholarships available for two deserving students. The value of each scholarship is $2,000 per school year to a maximum of four (4) years, equating to $8,000.

Eligibility Guidelines Applicants:

  • Must demonstrate outstanding academic achievement.
  • Must demonstrate achievement in organized sports at a competitive level.
  • Must demonstrate community leadership and involvement.
  • Must have a cumulative high school grade point percentage of at least 75%
  • Must reside within the province of Alberta
  • Must plan to enroll, for the first time, beginning in the fall, a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited post-secondary institution or vocational technical school within Canada
Application Requirements 1. An official copy of your Official High School Transcript or Detailed Academic Report
2. A 500 word essay outlining why you believe you deserve the Al Hamilton Scholarship Award
3. One letter of recommendation outlining your athletic achievements
4. One letter of recommendation outlining your community contributions
5. Applicants may also attach up to two (2) additional letters of recommendation
